Game Lost but Love Remains

Today in NZ vs PAK, New Zealand lost.

Out of grief, I wrote a short poem…

Game Lost, But Love Remains

You lose today, you win tomorrow!

Don’t lose hopes, though, for sun will shine!

Let your anger, let your sorrow,

Fire up your heart and determine

Your victory in our hearts!

Every end is a new start,

You never lose when you’ve won our hearts!

P.S. BlackCaps, really well played! We are going to stick with you forever! (And the Aussies too)

The Last Show

On a long summer day, I had gone to a long-forgotten alley, in a much-remembered building. Phoenix Theatre.

It wasn’t a place where people went just to entertain themselves. No, it was much more.

It was a monument. A reverend, venerable monument. A legacy of past. Immortal, like its name suggests. And magical.

Inside the hall, curtains were drawn. Lights were off. The movie started… And all the scenes came alive.

I just gasped with shock, a pleasant shock. Until, one movie character came and dragged me inside the screen. Like it did, to every watcher.

Welcome to Planet Cygnet

Today is my tenth day as a blogger, and since I quite like the number 10, I really want to make this day special!

So here we go…

Welcome to Cygnet!

Far, far away in distant, dreamy land lies planet Cygnet. It is, I must say, a land deep inside my mind and heart where I retreat to escape reality. Well, I am a little confused where to start… So please excuse me if I’m a bit jumbled up…. 🙂

History:

Once upon a time, long, long ago lived Sashie, a large elegant swan-god who roamed all the universe on his silver wings. But unfortunately, he was all alone.

One day, he was accidently hit by Hou the Comet and lost one eye and his divine form.

He cursed the comet that it could never move again and Hou, out of guilt, agreed easily and promised he would create hundreds of companions for him.

Extremely pleased, Sashie acknowledged comet as his son and gifted him the eye.

Soon, Hou became planet and came to be known as Cygnet or the swan-child and Sashie lived as the first living being.

This is just one of the many folktales about how the world was created, but certainly the most famous one. I hope you like it!

P. S. Do any of you like to build magical worlds too? Do you have a place to retreat from reality? I would love to know! ❤

Welcome to Planet Cygnet

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

— Oscar Wilde.

Faraway, in The Universe Of Fantasies, there is a little planet called Cygnet, where anything and everything happen. In the Lands of Imagination, lies a little but infinite Den Of Dreams. Scribbles of poetries, snippets of stories, long yellowed letters, little sketches of the cave walls… and lots of musings of a Dragon lies here. Welcome to my little Den Of Dreams! And thank you for being here. Oh, by the way, I am Serene, who is really excited and grateful to have you here. 🙂

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
