Broken Trail

Word Count: 99

The traveller stared hopelessly at the broken rails. He walked so long, so deep in the forests, so high up the hills… for this? No, he could not go back to the other said of the rails. His “friends” were waiting. After what he’d said to them… no, that was impossible.

“There must be a way out,” he whispered desperately. A little cobbled path down the side. Could be a ditch or a snake’s den. But it could also be an escape, a trail to somewhere new. Besides, it was a beautiful forest to explore. So, he walked on.

I made a little drawing of the traveller to go with the story.

Note: For me, the story is a metaphor for choices we make in life. Sometimes we go on a path to find a dead-end to our goals. We’re scared to turn back in fear of backlash from others. And perhaps, if we look deeper we may find a little outlet that may lead to something bigger.

Three boys on abandoned streets, under sun,
Deserted streets, nothing on sight, just a string on road, a string alone.
“Must be the string of fate.” Said one,
“Nay, isn’t red.” Said another one,
“Might be a shoelace.” said another one,
They kept up their pace, and soon they were gone
In the deepest, darkest parts of streets— run,
They wanted to. But as they spun,
A dark shadow blocked them. Then begun
A futile fight. The shadow won.
A trace was left by the previous victim who never returned,
Stringed together by a string on road, a string alone.

So this guy is the ‘you’ in the poem who just gave a nice lecture with his limited knowledge :’)

“Everyone would leave me,” my worries grow,
What others think is something I shall never know,
A let-down? Burden? Distraction? Worry?
No, I ain’t certain, yet I say ‘sorry’,
Until you come up to me and with a smile,
Say, “Just close your eyes, a little while,
Some things are,
The way they are,
And it hurts that you can’t change ’em,
Things are mess at times ‘n you can’t arrange em,
But if there’s three reasons to give up,
I’m give you hundred reasons to stay,
You’ve come a long, long way
Till now, and you’ve a long, long way to go,
You’ll manage somehow, you’ll outgrow
All your worries to be the you wanna be.”
You look at me
And say, “I needn’t eludicate
That you’re life’s a blank slate,
And what you write comes true:
So stop thinking what others’ thinking,
And just be you!”

But I’m stuck in dead-end.

Sweet Sixteen

So, um, I’m really sorry for being so infrequent, but then, life’s a bit busy. But still, I really, really miss being here because WordPress is totally like my home.

I don’t really know how to word it out but well, but since I’m turning sixteen today, I’d love to say a thank you to all of you.

Been a while since I last posted, but you know, I’ve been more online in my Tumblr but here’s a little poem I’d written from the point of view of one of my favourite fictional characters, Hiyori Tono.

Late Night

Look, I’m sad tonight,
But look, I can’t cry,
I’m just holding myself tight,
My knees to my chest,
I just wanted to be the best,
But I’m worse than the worst,
I’ve lost the thing I needed most.
Love myself? Huh, kidding, aren’t you?
I’m such a letdown to all the few
Who looked up to me.
A failure, a loser, a sucker, you see.
And you thought I can be
A hero?
I’m a total zero tonight.
Let’s just end this fight.
I’m tired of fighting my head.
Tired of all thoughts invading my bed.
Worries
Pretend to be necessary.
Too bad, I’m tricked by ‘em.
Didn’t want treasure, didn’t want fame,
Just wanted love.

The book on self love lies at the corner,
Read it all morning,
Now’s night and I’m mourning
Self-love? Oh thanks for such a sweet lie,
How do I love myself, baby, when I just wanna die?

  3. Do you prefer tea, coffee, or water? Usually, I’d say Coffee but being in a Free! obsessed state (free! is an anime, haha) I’d say water.
  4. Which of these views would you rather have outside your window? An ocean, a misty mountain, a sunny meadow, or a bustling city? I’d really love to see misty mountains but again, since I’m in a Free-obsessed state I’d say an ocean in spring season.
  5. What do you do when it rains? I love rain! There’s one of my character imaginary friend who loves rains and storm so sometimes I write his diary. Or, I love to bath in rain.
  6. Do you write posts ahead of time or publish the day you write? I publish just after I write.
  7. How often do you remember your dreams? When I kept a dream journal, I used to remember my dreams but now, not very often. But today, I remember, I dreamed about Haru and Rin (from Free!) strolling and chatting.
  8. If you could safely visit any planet, what would it be? Fictional planets are allowed! Earth because I live in Cygnet 😉
  9. Do monsters exist? Yes, inside us.
  10. What do you give people? I try to give them smile or escape from reality through writing or art, I guess?
  11. What do people give you? Well, it depends, but mostly, motivation. If I love them, I’d be motivated to do good and if I hate them… I trap them in my stories and torture them. *evil laughter*
