I am just so excited for the first year birthday of my blog. I am still confused how to celebrate the day so, in the meantime, here’s a few pictures from my current projects (:
1. Habul’s Diary
So meet Habul, who lives at Calcutta, and here’s a little snip from his “digital bullet journal”.
What do you think about this?
2. A Love Journal By Hamza And Shi
So these two guys are the most lovey-dovey guys, real sweeties and hard work though
A Few Questions For You…
What do you think about these? Do you keep diaries or journals for your characters?
How long have you been blogging? How did you celebrate your first blogging birthday?
What would you like to see in Den of Dreams?
Thank you so much for reading (: Warmest regards and have a great day/night ahead.
I don’t really know where to begin for I’ve been
bottling these emotions since a long time ago and constantly arguing with
myself, “Oh, that’s nothing to worry!”
It all started back in the beginning of the ICC
World Cup 2019. I and my younger sister were supporting Australia, New Zealand
and England to star in the matches. However, I don’t live in either of the
places, and the country to where I belong is also a cricket-playing nation. So every
day, we —I and my sister— showered with scorns about supporting some
‘foreign countries’.
“You are a Traitor”
I’ve lost count of how many times we have been hearing this. My poor sister is suffering much more than me perhaps because she’s more outspoken than me.
Aki, another person like us, who dares to be different from the rest
Almost everyone, every near and dear ones too, have
turned against us. They think we are just petty traitors who love the “foreign”
teams, instead of our motherland, just because they are fair and good-looking.
But this is not true, and neither is it justified.
I don’t really believe in the concept of countries where you divide our world
just on some political basis. If I were to acknowledge some place as
‘motherland’, then it would be nothing other than the Earth.
The Whole World Is My Motherland
“Remember, no men are strange, no countries foreign”
No Men Are Foreign, James Kirkup
I agree exactly with the great poet James Kirkup. This world belongs to everyone sharing it. Every fellow human being is our brother. So why can’t we choose a few of our brothers against others? Why should something like political boundaries come in between something as infinite as love?
I like Australia, New Zealand and England cricket
team because they are good teams. Because the players are interesting. Because
I am mesmerized by their personalities. Nothing to do with their skin colour or
looks!
There is one particular girl in my sister’s class
who constantly mocks my sister as ‘Traitor’. One day, it’s okay. But day after
day, it does not remain friendly any more. Unfortunately and coincidently, that
girl’s elder sister studies in my class. Just a few days ago she was indirectly
trying to imply that ‘It’s our culture to lick other’s boots’.
We two are trying our best not to express our dark
feelings on being called a traitor. We are not angry, not in the least, but
really hurt. Every day the fogs of pain and discomfort and sadness hover in our
hearts. In this dark moments, we are trying to find hope in our fictional
friends. They give us strength and hope…
Thank you, everyone, for reading this.
Everyone is different and that’s alright! We can
have different views and choices.
I wanted to scream out to the world about my feelings and that’s what I am doing right now. Perhaps this is my longest post so far and I am truly thanking everyone who has given their time to listen to this emotional outburst.
I know, day by
day, my entries to you are getting fewer and fewer… I am really sorry for that
but you see, we are so busy about our shifting! It really pains me, to think we
can’t live in this valley anymore. I can’t run in the soft grasses in the
meadows, I can’t ramble all day long or watch the sunrise and sunset over the
hues of the hills… Every day, my parents are taking tours on carts to the
Linnet Town and shifting bit by bit. I am alone at home, most of the times,
clearing attic and sheds.
Today, however,
I have skipped most of my chores. Why? Today is ICC World Cup 1st
semi-finals! India vs New Zealand! I am praying to God that New Zealand wins!
Speaking of the world cup, I have already made a new friend at Linnet Town! He
is a Euclonic (a different religion) but loves the World Cup just as much as I
do! He is supporting Australia and said, if the Aussies lost, he would die.
Isn’t it too much? He is 20 year old and much older than me. I too wish Aussies
would win the World Cup. Either NZ or England can be runner-up. Really, these
fellows from Earth have invented such interesting games… Why don’t we have such
in our Cygnet? But luckily I’ve heard, in Linnet Town, every year they have a
Dragon Race. Now that would be interesting! Oh, I am excited and
disappointed at the same time.
By the way, I
had found a rusty tin box in our shed. After my parents return, I’ll open it.
Maybe it’s just a piece of old junk but I believe there’s some adventure in it!
Sorry for no talk for a long time. Been a bit busy. We are shifting from our valley to Linnet Town. Really busy.
By the way, Australia, England and New Zealand have been to semis! Yeah! Writing lots of poems and stories nowadays. Not doing much study. Will talk to you later. Nothing interesting here.
Very disappointed today. Couldn’t go to the city because of extra-homework. Parents went, but the stationary shop was closed. Last week this happened too. 😦
Now the homework is not complete even! I’m quite sad. On Tuesday, we will go out somewhere because today my parents had to go to work because of emergency.
The woods are looking very fresh, by the way. Maybe it’s the rain. There weren’t any landslides. A few pine trees have fallen down, though.
By the way, I found an odd turquoise coloured feather. I like collecting feathers! Maybe it belongs to a magical bird!
A bit tensed about today’s world cup match, IND VS ENG. I wish England would win! Can’t wait to see Butler, Morgan, Root, Roy, Stokes and many more.
Maybe something interesting will happen today evening! I hope so.
By now, you
must be guessing that I love the genre fantasy so much! Yes, I truly love all
the magical worlds they build, all the magical races and food and people and languages
and… everything! But dragons and quests are the very basics of Fantasy for me
and I can’t believe that it could be fantasy without them.
And my
family is really everything to me! There are 4 people in my family, the two
most extra-ordinary parents and a beloved younger sister. They are my life and
I can’t live without them! ❤
G is for
Goals and Gratitude
Well, I
really love to set goals for myself and most of the time, I don’t fulfill them…
My greatest goal is to become a children’s author and I’m trying my best to
work towards it…J
And I place
gratitude very high in my moral list. Totally agree with Samuel Johnson’s, ‘Gratitude
is the fruit of great cultivation’. I try to express my gratitude to every
person in my life but as an introvert, I am not very fine in expressing my
heart-felt emotions. So, dear reader, let me say you a BIG thank you for
reading this!
H is for
History and Hand-written
History is
no wonder my favourite subject, after literature. It’s such a great time-traveller and helps me visit nooks and
crannies of bygone eras. Among all periods of history, my favourite time is the
medieval age with all emperors, castles and dungeons.
And I love
everything hand-written! Even a small hand-written letter can cheer my mood in
gloomiest times and I prefer to keep my notes and diary entries all
hand-written since they do bring back nostalgic memories
I is
Imagination and Introvert
Here I can proudly say, I have a vast ocean of imagination (sorry, if I’m bragging but I really pride on my imagination). I love dwelling among caves and dens and huts and castles of my imaginary world. But this day-dreaming does get me trouble sometimes too because I can’t focus on studies and school. 🙂
And by now,
since I’ve told it about a million times, everybody perhaps knows that I’m an
introvert. Well, I don’t like being in crowds, I don’t like those useless,
boring chit-chats and I don’t like those “overly-social” gatherings. But I love
to write and connect to as many people I can with similar interest…
J is for
Journal and Journeys
My dear
journal is my best friend in this whole wide world. I share my every feelings,
every emotions to it as if it were a human. Till now, I’ve completed 6 journals
and writing 7th one now. Do you keep a journal too? I do love
reading all sorts of diaries and journals.
And I love
all sorts of journeys too! Be it a short hike in the woods or a long trek in
the mountains, I love it all. I like keeping an account of my journeys too in
my travel journal and reading other people’s amazing adventures.
(Maybe
tomorrow, I’ll tell you about myself from K to O J )
Goodbye and have a great day! Hoping to hear from you too! 🙂
Today is quite cold. Stormed a bit in the evening. Hope we aren’t going to get landslides in this valley. I hope the roads don’t block off.
Tomorrow is Sunday. It’s my favourite day, you know. All our week’s shopping depends on this day. There are no shops in our valley, except a few farmhouses (they aren’t proper shops either). Every Sunday, we go to the nearest town to buy things, you know. Tomorrow, I’ll buy myself a few little notebooks and pens. I love making bullet journals!
By the way, today I saw a RaashiKen. Do you know what it is? It’s a large beast that looks like mountain of clouds. Very large but really kind. Father was out in the storm and RaashiKen saved him. In return, I made him a wood-carved statue of him. He seemed so happy! I hope to see him again.
Recently, I’ve been following an amazing blogger, Tatterhood, and got inspired by her to write a bit about myself.
A picture I drew…
Here everything
about me, from A to Z…
A is for Anime
and Aliases
I am really a
big otaku, and Dororo and Naruto are my absolute favourites. I am really fond
of Tahomaru from Dororo (2019) and Akatsuki from Naruto.
I also love to
be shrouded in mysteries and maybe that’s why I choose so many aliases and
false-names. Dragon Warrior is certainly one of my favourite one J
B is for Books
and Beasts
I am an avid
reader and love reading all sorts of books. Well, I confess, I still love to
read good children’s book, especially quests.
And about
beasts… well, I love each and every beast on earth. Be it good or bad, tame or
wild. And I love mythical beasts too, especially, dragons and phoenix and
selkies and will-o-wisps.
C is for
Crickets and Chocolates.
These are
certainly two things I’m greatly addicted to.
I watch cricket
almost daily, especially, when World Cup2019 is going on. I am supporting
Australia, New Zealand and England. My favourite players are Pat Cummins and
Alex Carey and Jos Butler and Eoin Morgan.
And about
chocolates… well, I’ll be happy to eat one every day! Cadbury is my favourite
brand and I prefer milk chocolate over milk chocolate.
D is for
Dreamer and Dragons
I guess, this
is the one you can understand very easily from my title J I really love to dream both at night and day, and
follow my mind its bizarre travels.
And I’ve got a
bunch of imaginary dragons… My favourite one is a big, copper coloured guy, who
can shapeshift into human. He’s called Drake and is the leader of the Dragon
Tribe.
E is for Emails
and Environment
I really love
to check my emails and do that every fifteen minutes when at home.J My mailbox is filled mostly with the amazing updates
of my blog and reader’s lists.
And since I
truly love our environment and would go to any limit to protect it. I truly
believe this world is not only for us, but also for all the other plant and
animal friends. We all must save Mother Environment!
(Maybe tomorrow, I’ll tell you about myself
from F to J…J)
A Letter For
You
Dear Reader,
I love getting
to know many people and I shall greatly delighted to know more about you! Let’s
all write a posts featuring ‘A to Z about myself’ and maybe you could share the
links in the comments so that we all can have a peek in it! J
Let me tell you, I have got a big bunch of imaginary friends living in an imaginary world. One of them, Kain, a blue-haired guy who’s a dreamer like me has just started a diary. I really hope you enjoy it! 🙂
A Brief Start
29th June 2019
Dear Diary,
You know,
writing to you is quite a strange experience. Writing to a big, fat notebook is
really odd. Especially when you are usually a real shy guy, bit of a
muddle-head and not really confident about your way of writing… And moreover… I’m
quite sure nobody would be a bit interested in the random musings of a petty
nature-loving, all day-dreaming little boy.
But well, I’ll be a little selfish here. I’m a bit lonely and really want someone to stay beside me. So, dear diary, could you be that someone?
Myself, as I drew
But well, I’ll be a little selfish here. I’m a bit lonely and really want someone to stay beside me. So, dear diary, could you be that someone?
Let me tell you
a bit about myself. I am Kain, a 14 year boy who lives in a quiet, sleepy
valley. My life’s quite simple, you see, just 5 meals a day, at least a dozen
dishes of meat, school, wood-carvings and long wanderings in the woods.
I’ve got a little
family. Mother, Father and me. Both of them are wood-carvers and I want to be
one too.
Father is my
best friend, but since he’s a bit older than me and stays away most of time, I
can’t really share everything with him.
Well, this was
just the introduction. Let’s get into crazier things…
Would you
believe if I tell you I’ve seen a dragon? Or that I’ve found a feather of
phoenix? Or that I absolutely love writing? Or I’ve wandered into Forbidden
Forests?
Well, most
peoples never do believe me, you know. So I hope you don’t mind me spoiling you
with this “discoveries” and random musings. 🙂
