Choose Your Own Adventure: An Introduction

Dear Readers,

As a child, I have always loved to read “Choose Your Own Adventure” books (and still do right now) and was just wondering… If perhaps I could bring it back to my life?

Well, here I have a crazy idea… Let’s start a Choose Your Adventure in WordPress! πŸ™‚

A Little About This Project

Welcome to the Woods of Wonder!

Nobody knows what exactly resides here or what exactly happens inside this dark, creepy woods. It all depends on you, your imagination and fate. What you choose, and what’s in store for you will set you in the way… So get ready! And choose your own adventure.

How To Start

  1. Everyday or in a brief interval of one or two days, I will write a post of “Choose Your Own Adventure: Woods of Wonder”
  2. Towards the end, there would a question, or a scenario.
  3. You may answer the scenario with a single word, sentence, experience or a post in your blog (and please do give me a link in the comment section if you do because… how can I miss your adventure? πŸ™‚ )
  4. And then… wait for a day or two. Let’s see what happens next πŸ™‚

Dear Reader

I would really love to hear back from you. Let’s make this adventure a memorable one πŸ™‚ Let’s join in each other’s journey! Have fun!

Warm regards,

Dragon warrior.

Shifting Sunday

We are shifting… From a rented apartment we are moving to our very own house…

Excited as well as a bit sad about leaving this place with so many memories…

But well, to cheer up our moods, Mother Nature has given a beautiful gift! Just look at the clouds …! πŸ˜ƒ They Just took my fancy and carried me somewhere far, far away.

Magical clouds!

Dear Reader,

Have you experienced shifting? I would be extremely grateful to hear from you! πŸ’“πŸ˜ƒ

Lots of love and warm regards,

Dragon Warrior

Older Days

Thank you so much, K Rawson for holding this amazing challenge of What Pegman Saw! This week he’s off to Bhutan, taking us with him in the journey.

Older Days

Hundred years I have lived,
In edges of pines and curves of grasses,
Hundred clouds I have seen,
Kissing the ground as dawn passes
Softly, beside the gurgling streams.
All my life, was a spring,
Till there were flowers
In the long dotted fields,
Till there were dragon flies
Hovering by the contours of dark green hills,
Till they saw me with the lightning
and thunder of stormy nights,
Till they believed me and gave me a place
In their lives.
Now I am a lie,
Just to exist in books,
And in the flag fluttering in the skies.

Notes:

  1. Perhaps you had already guessed it, it was written in perspective of a dragon. Druk, the dragon in Bhutanese flag, is a Tibetan mythological creature.
  2. Written missing those days where people used to believe in dragons.

Misunderstood

A poem written by my imaginary friend, Masaki.

Misunderstood

It’s hard to bear

When all your near

And dear ones turn against you;

When no one gets the few

Words that escape your lips.

When all your emotions slip

In your eyes,

And yet, to them, it’s just dust.

It’s painful,

When they take your words

In the wrong turn

And spread hate around the world,

Spread the words that make you burn

From inside with guilt,

For words you’ve never built.

And in those times, you feel,

To hide and conceal

Your true self and bury deep, deep in a wood,

And slowly, silently suffer the pain of being misunderstood.

Fly Away With Me

A most amazing poem by a great poet and one of my favourite bloggers, Wolf Boy… It’s brilliant and just perfect for an alien like me!
The post deserves a mighty praise from all the seven thousands legendary dragons!

Thank you so much, Crispina, for your Creative Challenge!

Tale of a Snail

A little umbrella,

By the sea,

Watching the waves passing by,

There, goes wind, carrying me,

There I fly,

Deep into the sand,

There comes a big cruel human,

She picks me up in her hand,

And breaks my shell.

Down, I fell,

Broken.

There goes my last silent cries,

Dying,

As the wind passing softly by the shore.

The little umbrella nods softly,

the little waves lap softly,

And my little shell is thrown again.

The human is not interested anymore.

After thoughts:

The picture really brought me back memories of beaches… I, myself, love to collect sea shells, but only of dead beings. There are people, I know, though, who just kill these little snails and oysters just for “fun” and then throw it away when bored. I really believe those people must be punished.

Snatched Away From Town

The train rushed out of the station, dragging me with it. Hands tied, mouth gagged and eyes burning with tears too stubborn to fall.

Outside of the old window, I see my hometown blurring away. The station where I sold newspapers, the roads where I begged and… the cluster of stones where I had awakened the curse.

Another lashing hit my arm.

β€œHow did you do that, scoundrel?”

Master shouted. I kept mum.

Another lash of whip.

β€œWhen will that creature come alive, you urchin?”

I faintly smiled for I was the answer. A creature snatched from his homeland.

Welcome to our Periodic Table: A guest post by Shota

Hey there everyone!!

Having a good day, eh? It’s me Shota, aka Fluorine, here! Dear mates, lemme introduce you to my super, duper, extra-talented group of Periodic table!!

Dear mate, I know I’ve posted this pic before too ! But it’s my bestie pic you see ^ ^ My darling Aki (aka Arsenic) drew it up for me πŸ™‚

About Us:

Ahem… *coughs his throat as if giving a lecture* So lemme tell ya something about us. At first, we are AMAZING! Yea, I’m bragging here πŸ˜€

We follow quite simple rules:

  1. Guys are non-metals
  2. Girls are metals
  3. And tomboys or girlish boys are metalloids (But no teasing them, eh… They have got hearts too )

Now, kick the rules under the table and lemme greet you to my dear mates! Sorry, mates, but I haven’t got their pics!

Hydrogen: a pure yandere guy. But looks extremely cutie and always wears a cap. Loves Oxygen (yaoi :D) Looks like a little sleek and shorty guy. Loves anime.

Helium: Auntie of our group -_- Wears old granny clothes all the time and old fashioned buns. Has a crush on Krypton πŸ˜€ Is a motherly figure to Xenon. Very “noble”. Age= 16

Lithium: Awfully dramatic and crybaby. Always two ponytails and a teary face. Loves flowers. Has a crush on me {but I don’t like her a bit -_-} Can be very reactive.

Beryllium: Very strong. Goes to gym. Good friends with Copper and Calcium. Has a tiny little crush on Nitrogen πŸ˜€ Doesn’t look very good. Wants to be a pilot.

Boron: Carbon’s cousin. Tomboy (Boron has kind of metallic properties, that’s why) Loves Carbon {that’s a secret, mate πŸ˜‰ } We tease her as Maquia because she tries to hide her soft side

Carbon: A really good and bad guy! I like him a lot, a lot and a lot!! πŸ™‚ Has a number of designer shirts telling silly quotes like “I am everywhere” -_- Very good in disguises, and we have a close bonding

Nitrogen: Another double faced guy! Likes plants, especially peas and pulses. Has long shoulder length hair and is kind of inert. Doesn’t like much quarrel.

Oxygen: My BIGGEST RIVAL! :0 Our vice leader. Very cheerful and reactive. Always chats with others… People like him a lot too (that’s a bad thing!!) Has a designer shirt telling “Everyone needs me” {I don’t need you a bit, Oxygen!}

And Fluorine: That’s me! The best one in the group!! I am leader, very reactive and strong and handsome ^ ^ I don’t know people think me as evil, but I am super cool! I react with each and everyone! I’ve got a designer shirt too, telling, “Whatever I touch is on Fire”

Neon: Oops, almost forgot this tiny little guy! Is quite shy towards strangers but in front of us, is a great and funny guy! Always wears LED sunglasses and those fluorescent rings, yea, even at night. Gives awesome nicknames!

All of us are 16 year old, by the way. So mates, I’ll tell ye about the rest next time, eh? Goodbye, till then, my dear mates!! πŸ˜€ Any favourite element, eh?

Notes from Dragon Warrior:

Oh well, I guess, Mr Fluorine, my dear imaginary friend, had quite a long chat today πŸ™‚ I hope you are not bothered by his awful bragging and boasting and rough language. Thank you for reading, and have a great weekend ahead! πŸ™‚ Thank you, Christine, for being my inspiration!

What Pegman Saw: Leafing through the memories

Thank you so much, K Rawson, for your brilliant Pegman’s Challenge! And thank you for choosing Loxton too πŸ™‚

Leafing through the memories

For others, Murray was just a river and those odd tracks lining up the shores were just signs of drunkards messing about.

But for me, it had a much, much greater significance. It’s a gesture that Gakal had not forgotten me yet.

Every time I see those large clumps of seaweed, I remember him. Everytime I see those marks slapped by the the tails, I remember him. Oh, Gakal why did you have to go?

They said, β€œHe’s gone for good!”

 They said β€œHe’s a monster!”

But to me, he was a savior. Yes, he looked ugly but he had saved my life more than once and on his back, I had travelled all around river Murray, and I have leaped back and forth time.

He shouldn’t have gone.

They said, they have killed him.

I don’t believe it. Dear Gakal, when will you return?

Notes:

  • Gakal is an aboriginal Australian word meaning “skill”
  • The character of this story, Gakal, is a Muldjewangk, an aboriginal mythical creature.
  • The main character is Alex, yes, the one about whom I wrote in last week’s challenge πŸ™‚
